Chief Christine Hudson
Christine Hudson is the City of Clarkston Police Chief. Chief Hudson began her career with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department in 1983. She left the Sheriff’s Department and went to work as a patrol officer for the City of Decatur Police Department. During her tenure with Decatur Police Department, she was ultimately promoted to the rank of Police Major. In 1991, the Georgia Women in Law Enforcement named her “honoree” for the DeKalb County Officer of the year program. That same year she was honored by the Georgia Bar Association as “Officer of the Year” for DeKalb County. She has also co-authored and article titled “A Small City’s Approach to a Big Drug Problem,” published in the Law and Order magazine.
In February 2005, Hudson left police work here in the States and went to Baghdad, Iraq to train the Iraqi Police. While there Hudson became a Team Leader to the American contractors who worked with the Iraqi Major General in charge of Internal Affairs for all of Iraq. She began her tenure with the City of Clarkston in 2009 as a Lieutenant and was ultimately promoted to the rank of Captain prior to serving a brief period as the Interim Chief of Police.
“I have a tremendous amount of faith and trust in Chief Hudson’s ability to move the Clarkson Police Department in the right direction, states City Manager Barker. She is a team player who is respected by officials in all the various local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. She brings a tough but fair management style to the position that has already proven effective with both the officers and members of the community.”
