Name: Tracy S. Ashby

Position Title: City Clerk

Tracy Ashby was hired by the City of Clarkston in February 1998 as the Finance Officer. In March 2005 she was promoted, by appointment of the City Council, to serve as the Municipal City Clerk. February 2018 has marked twenty years of continuous, dedicated service to the City of Clarkston.

Mrs. Ashby has prior experience in finance, personnel (HR) and administration thru both private sector employment and military service. Mrs. Ashby studied Broadcasting/Journalism at the University of North Carolina before choosing to serve in the US Army for five years. She worked in Personnel Services managing officer and enlisted personnel records and processing personnel actions concerning service members and their family members with duty stations in Nuremburg Germany and later Fort Bliss Texas.

During her time as City Clerk, Tracy has worked to insure the orderly operations of the Administration office and strived to maintain high standards of integrity and transparency within the organization. Her responsibilities include managing the business and alcohol license processing, the coordinating and distributing the agenda for Council Meetings, maintenance of contracts, ordinances, resolutions and agreements, and oversight of the publication of the City’ of Clarkston's Code of Ordinances.

Mrs. Ashby is a Certified Municipal Clerk with the Carl Vinson Institute at the University of Georgia and is currently completing their Masters Education Management Development Program. She is a member of the both Georgia Municipal Clerks/Finance Officers Association and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC).
