The City of Clarkston has successfully completed the Georgia Economic Placemaking Collaborative, a two year program designed to help cities strengthen downtowns and neighborhood centers through community driven placemaking strategies.
Through this initiative, Clarkston advanced projects centered on public art integration, downtown revitalization, pedestrian safety, and inclusive gathering spaces that reflect the City’s cultural diversity and support local economic vitality. Clarkston is one of four Georgia communities to graduate from the program this year and will be formally recognized during the 2026 Georgia Municipal Association Annual Convention in Savannah.
