City of Clarkston Selected for Atlanta Regional Commission’s 2025 Community Development Assistance Program
Clarkston, GA – (May 20, 2025)The City of Clarkston has been selected by the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) as one of seven recipients of the 2025 Community Development Assistance Program (CDAP), a regional initiative that provides technical and planning support to communities working to enhance quality of life.
Through this award, ARC staff will assist the City in hosting the Clarkston Housing Summit, a collaborative event designed to engage residents and stakeholders in meaningful discussions about the city’s current housing landscape. The summit will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Clarkston Community Center.
The event will empower community members to provide direct feedback on housing needs, concerns, and opportunities. This input will help inform future city planning efforts focused on affordability, accessibility, and long-term sustainability.

Burks. “We are grateful to ARC for this partnership and excited to empower our residents to shape Clarkston’s future through direct input and participation in the Housing Summit. By centering community voices in this process, we are taking an important step toward meeting the evolving needs of our residents.”
The ARC’s CDAP program provides a combination of grant funding and staff support to help communities pursue projects that promote livability, connectivity, and resilience. Projects were selected through a competitive process that prioritized initiatives addressing key regional challenges, such as housing affordability, access to healthy food, creative placemaking, and climate change impacts.
