Volunteering Opportunities

All of the listed organizations play a significant role in Clarkston life.  Some physical facilities, however, may be based in other Metro Atlanta communities.  We attempt to provide the most up-to-date information on Clarkston’s rich and diverse volunteer opportunities, but please contact your organization of interest directly for the latest details.

Help provide a safe haven for refugee women of all cultures through programs that promote spiritual, mental, and physical healing
– Provide interpretation and translation services.
– Conduct community outreach (especially in nursing and casework).

AWARE (Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort) – 678-418-1111
Champion orphaned and injured wildlife throughout Metro Atlanta.
– Rescue, transport, and/or help care for wild animals.
– Coordinate education programs.
– Staff the wildlife hotline, provide clerical help, or maintain facilities.

Sagal Radio, which broadcasts online in Somali, Swahili, Amharic, Bhutanese, Karen, and English, has several exciting roles for volunteers.
-Be an announcer in one of five languages.
