CALL TO ORDER –SPECIAL CALL MEETING by Teleconference
Vice Mayor Awet Eyasu called the meeting to order at 6:30PM.

NEW BUSINESS

C1) Millage Rate 2020- Presentation & Public Hearing to take comment on the proposed 2020 millage rate.

The City Manager gave a presentation on the proposed 2020 Millage rate.

Vice-Mayor Eyasu opened the floor for Public Comments

Brian Medford said he felt this was a fair assessment for the 2020 taxes.

A resident asked a question on how DeKalb appraises property and Mr. Gomez detailed how those are conducted and how residents can submit an appeal for property values.

No more public comments.

Vice-Mayor Eyasu closed the public hearing.

C2)  Request Cares Act Funding from DeKalb County
The Vice-Mayor discussed that the City should approve submitting the attached letter to DeKalb County requesting that the City receive a prorated portion of the CARES Act funding that DeKalb will receive. The calculated by person rate would be $174.49 per person to assist the City with Covid related expenses.

Awet Eyasu read the proposed letter.

Awet Eyasu made a motion to approve the Letter and send it to DeKalb County. Laura Hopkins seconded the motion.  A vote was called and the motion carried (6, 0).

Awet Eyasu made a motion to adjourn the special call meeting.  Yt Bell seconded the motion.  A vote was called and the motion carried (6, 0).
